Professional Experience:
Xavier’s entrepreneurial journey has taken him across several industries. Earlier in his career, he worked in construction before moving into fund management, where he gained experience in investing, structuring deals and allocating capital. After exiting the fund in 2022, he shifted his attention towards businesses that were more closely aligned with his personal interests. Through Maverick Endeavours, his portfolio now includes hospitality assets such as Ellaidhoo Maldives and Barceló Nasandhura Malé, as well as regenerative medicine venture ExoThera and other investments across Southeast Asia.
Turning Point:
A significant turning point came after Xavier exited his fund management business and had the opportunity to reconsider how he wanted to spend his time. He decided to build businesses around three priorities: challenging himself through entrepreneurship, taking care of people through hospitality, and pursuing his interest in wellness, longevity and regeneration. The aftermath of COVID also created an important investment opportunity in the Maldives, where depressed hospitality valuations enabled him and his partners to enter the market at an attractive time as tourism recovered.
What He Does Now:
Today, Xavier develops and invests in businesses through Maverick Endeavours, with interests across hospitality, healthcare and biotech, real estate and other sectors. He is also involved with ExoThera, a regenerative medicine company focused on building greater trust and consistency in the sector. Looking ahead, Xavier hopes to bring together his experience in hospitality, travel, wellness, longevity and regenerative medicine to explore a new approach to travel—one where people increasingly travel not simply to escape, but to recover, recharge and improve their well-being.
