Overview:

Dr. Daniel Ng is a technology and business leader with more than four decades of experience spanning technology, marketing, consulting and leadership. Beginning his career as a software engineer, he went on to work with major technology organisations including IBM, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Red Hat, Cloudera and Neo4j. Today, his work brings together technology, business growth, sustainability and human-centred leadership. He believes commercial success should be measured not only by profitability, but also by whether a business creates value responsibly and leaves people and the wider ecosystem better off.

Industry:

Technology | Artificial Intelligence | Business Consulting | Sustainability & ESG | Leadership | Asia-Pacific Market Expansion

Professional Experience:

After graduating in Canada, Dr. Ng began his career as a software engineer before building an extensive career across the technology industry. His experience has taken him through several major technological eras—from mainframes and personal computing to the internet, cloud, connected data and artificial intelligence—and organisations including IBM, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Red Hat, Cloudera and Neo4j. He is now Managing Partner of Omni-Integra and Executive Vice President at Graphen AI. His work includes helping companies expand into Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region, with a strong emphasis on local partnerships, cultural understanding and what he describes as “global ambition, local humility”.

Turning Point:

Rather than a single career-changing moment, Dr. Ng’s perspective evolved through more than four decades of technological and business transformation, as well as periods of disappointment and having to start again. He came to recognise that technology alone does not determine whether organisations succeed, but people do. This shifted his definition of leadership away from titles and corporate achievements towards stewardship, mentoring and developing others. It also shaped his philosophy of “humanising technology”, where AI and other technologies should enhance human capabilities without replacing qualities such as judgement, ethics, creativity, empathy and trust.

What He Does Now:

Today, Dr. Ng works across technology, consulting and sustainability through Omni Integra and Graphen AI. He also serves as Chairman of the CEO Circle at the Sustainable Business Network Association Malaysia (SustNET), where he advocates moving sustainability beyond ESG reporting and into everyday business decisions. He champions concepts including “Self-ESG”, which places personal responsibility and behaviour at the foundation of sustainability, and Project GENIUS—“Generating Environmental Innovation Using Scraps”—which connects sustainability, innovation and kindness. Across these initiatives, his broader vision is to encourage businesses and leaders to combine technology and commercial performance with sustainability, empathy and positive human impact.
