Peculiar Booth, established in 2017, specialises in experiential photobooths and pioneered keychain and magnet photobooths in Singapore. Managing these businesses has given Sze Xin practical experience in manpower, operations and building systems that allow a company to function without depending entirely on its founder.

Turning Point:

Sze Xin’s involvement with Make-A-Wish became an important influence on his entrepreneurial journey. Working with children facing critical illnesses and their families prompted him to think more deeply about happiness and the value of bringing people together. This perspective later influenced his entrepreneurial journey, which saw him acquire Party Wholesale and subsequently found Peculiar Booth. Through both businesses, he discovered that decorations and photographs are ultimately vehicles for something more meaningful: encouraging people to interact, laugh, connect and preserve shared memories.

What He Does Now:

Today, Sze Xin continues to lead Party Wholesale and Peculiar Booth while working as a Financial Services Manager and leading a team of financial consultants. He is also actively involved with Make-A-Wish as a wish granter and became its first community partnership volunteer in Singapore, connecting the organisation with businesses for fundraising, sponsorships and outreach. Across his professional, entrepreneurial and volunteer roles, connecting people remains a consistent theme in his work.
