Lukas Leong is the Founder of LukasMarketing, a marketing agency that helps tuition centres generate leads and convert enquiries into student enrolments. His perspective is shaped by his own experience as a struggling student who attended tuition and eventually progressed from failing subjects to achieving As. This allows him to understand the concerns of students and parents and translate those insights into more relatable marketing messages.

Industry:

Digital Marketing | Education Marketing | Lead Generation | Copywriting | Marketing Automation

Professional Experience:

Lukas became a business owner at 19, initially concentrating heavily on copywriting and spending his early years developing his ability to create persuasive messaging. He eventually realised that copywriting alone was insufficient and expanded his capabilities into complementary areas of marketing, ultimately progressing from a copywriter to running a marketing agency. Today, his work with tuition centres covers advertising, messaging, lead generation, follow-up systems, automation and strategies for converting trial lessons into enrolments.

Turning Point:

One important turning point came when Lukas recognised that specialising too narrowly in copywriting was limiting his growth. While copywriting gave him a strong foundation in understanding audiences and communicating persuasively, building a marketing business required a broader range of complementary skills. His own academic journey also became an advantage: having experienced the frustration of struggling in school before eventually performing well, he could relate more closely to the emotions behind parents’ and students’ decisions about tuition.

What He Does Now:

Today, Lukas helps tuition centres address what he identifies as three key marketing challenges: generating leads, converting leads into trial lessons and converting trials into enrolments. He advocates quick and consistent follow-up, strong messaging based on parents’ actual concerns, and demonstrating tangible student progress during trial lessons. While he uses AI and automation to improve efficiency, Lukas believes human understanding remains essential because effective marketing requires genuinely understanding how prospective customers think and feel.
