Overview:
Jackson Lim is a second-generation builder with TLT Projects, a Singapore construction and renovation company founded by his in-laws in 2007. Although he was not part of the company’s beginnings, renovating his first HDB home sparked an unexpected interest in construction. Today, he carries forward TLT Projects’ philosophy of treating every client’s home as if it were their own, with an emphasis on quality workmanship, transparency, trust and attention to detail.
Industry:
Design & Construction | Renovation | Residential Construction | Home Improvement
Professional Experience:
Jackson entered the construction industry after experiencing the renovation of his own home with TLT Projects. He subsequently joined the family business, underwent on-the-job training at SAC and learnt the trade from the ground up. Working directly with homeowners and architects, he has developed practical experience in managing renovation and construction projects. TLT Projects is BCA-certified and has built up almost two decades of completed projects, with prospective clients even encouraged to visit previous projects and speak directly with homeowners about their experiences.
Turning Point:
Jackson’s turning point came when his in-laws helped him and his wife renovate their first HDB home. Although they already had their own design ideas, participating in the renovation process showed him how different the realities of construction were from simply designing a space. The experience sparked his interest in the industry and ultimately led him to join TLT Projects. Rather than inheriting the role automatically, he learnt the business through practical training and hands-on experience.
What He Does Now:
Today, Jackson helps carry TLT Projects into its next generation while preserving the values established by its founders. He focuses on delivering quality construction, transparent quotations and long-term durability rather than competing purely on price. At the same time, he is embracing technologies such as AI to improve planning, communication and productivity. As homeowners increasingly arrive with their own concepts and AI-generated visualisations, Jackson sees the builder’s role as turning those ideas into well-constructed, practical homes without compromising craftsmanship or integrity.
