Kelvin Fong is the Chief Executive Officer of PropNex Realty, one of Singapore’s leading real estate agencies. His journey from failing his O-Levels to leading a major property organisation reflects resilience, perseverance and personal growth. Today, he believes that true success lies not merely in personal achievements, but in empowering others, developing future leaders and helping people realise their potential.
Industry:
Real Estate | Property Advisory | Business Leadership | Sales Management | Training & Development
Professional Experience:
Kelvin entered the real estate industry more than 20 years ago and progressively built and mentored a team comprising thousands of property salespersons. His leadership responsibilities initially centred on sales, training and developing salespersons, where he gained extensive experience in motivating people and building sustainable careers. In 2025, he succeeded PropNex founder Ismail Gafoor as CEO, taking on responsibility for the organisation’s overall direction, departmental operations and long-term growth. His leadership approach emphasises clear direction, continuous learning, adaptability and developing the strengths of others.
Turning Point:
A significant turning point came around 2014, when Kelvin was approximately 39 years old. Despite achieving several career milestones, he began questioning what would motivate him to continue striving for success. He eventually discovered greater fulfilment in helping others grow, particularly by giving team members opportunities to conduct training, speak publicly and develop confidence. Watching others overcome self-doubt and achieve their potential gave him a stronger sense of purpose. This experience transformed his leadership philosophy from pursuing individual achievements to creating opportunities for others to succeed.
What He Does Now:
Today, Kelvin leads PropNex as CEO, focusing on strengthening the organisation, developing future leaders and helping property professionals build sustainable careers. He encourages salespersons to look beyond short-term financial achievements and develop a clear sense of purpose, adaptability and long-term business sustainability. Kelvin is also preparing PropNex for an increasingly AI-driven environment, with a three-year goal of helping its salespersons and staff use AI effectively to enhance their capabilities and professional value. He believes technology should complement human knowledge, experience and relationships rather than replace them.
