About him: Ian Tan is a Singapore-based magician and financial planner known for blending entertainment with analytical thinking. Inspired by famous Taiwanese magician Liu Qian during his school days, Ian began learning magic through local magic shops before eventually finding a mentor who helped him develop his skills.

What started as a hobby gradually evolved into a professional career as he began performing to fund his growing collection of magic props. Known for his highly interactive and humour-driven performances, Ian specialises in family and children’s entertainment while maintaining a strong presence in Singapore’s events scene. Turning point: A major turning point came when Ian participated in the Singapore’s Association of Magicians Close-Up Magic Competition at around 17 years old. The competition became one of his first serious performances and motivated him to pursue magic more professionally.
